King's FRCR 2B Revision Sessions

Book session by session | 30 minute VIVA slots

History

The King’s FRCR 2B course is a long established course which has continued to evolve from 1985, and was initially set-up by Professor John Karani and Professor Philip Gishen. In the past names associated with the course were Professor Grainger, Dr Allison, Professor Armstrong, Dr Reznek, Professor Carty, Dr Craig and Dr Field.

About

After a hiatus through the pandemic, the King’s FRCR 2B course is returning!

The course will feature the same great King’s College Hospital faculty, and the set-up of this course has been reworked to match the new exam layout.

The aim

To provide FRCR2B candidates with an opportunity to practise the final FRCR viva under exam conditions in 15 minute intervals, with case by case feedback.

These sessions are practical, stimulating and a comprehensive viva exam experience:

  •  practical (case-based learning);
  • stimulating (interactive, challenging cases, immediate feedback after 15 minute viva)
  • comprehensive (covering a full range of viva topics with a range of FRCR qualified faculty)

By the end of the sessions, the delegate will have:

  • Learn pearls and avoid common pitfalls for the FRCR2B viva
  • Develop confidence interpreting and presenting viva case studies
  • Increase your knowledge of exam technique, case breadth and complexity

How it works

The set-up of this course has been reworked to match the current exam layout. You can now book one-to-one viva case sessions. You will book the number of viva sessions you would like and meet different faculty for each session.

Using Infomed’s expertise and setup, delegates will attend online to connect with the instructor. The delegate will then open the cloud based PACS and share their screen with the instructor. The 30 minutes session (15 minute viva, 15 minute feedback) will then begin.

You, the delegate will be provided with focused attention and case by case feedback.

At the end of each case viewing session, each delegate will also hear the proposed model answers for each case. We want to challenge the delegates and will have a wide selection of ‘gold medal’ and Aunt Minnie type cases to help you not only pass but excel in the exam.

The course fee is inclusive of a delegate welcome pack a timetable and a helpful ‘hints and tips’ document written with the help of previous FRCR2b examiners.
